Export FAQs

CHAPTER: Finding Suppliers, Buyers & Distributors
2. Where can I find U.S. importers by product and location?
ANSWER: The major databases and directories of U.S. importers are fee-based. These include Trade Compass’ TradeSmart, a premium product that identifies U.S. importers of specific products, by company name, source country, port of load or port of discharge in the U.S. TradeSmart draws data from AMS import documents on over 2,500,000 waterborne import shipments into the U.S. TradeSmart is updated daily and can be searched by individual company name, product, HS Code, country of origin, port of load and port of discharge or any combination. Each record contains detailed shipment information on the product shipped, the quantities, the arrival date, and the companies involved.
