The Automated Export System (AES) is a joint venture of the U. S. Census Bureau and the U. S. Customs & Border Protection agency, designed for electronic reporting of export information. General merchandise valued over $2,500 per commodity classification and licensed shipments, regardless of value, must be reported prior to the cargo exiting the United States. Presented by Keith Jones, Marketing & Client Support, Automated Export System Branch/Foreign Trade Division of the U.S. Census Bureau provides an overview of the critical components of AES.
