Tony Dolz
Director

Tony Dolz is the Director of the Center for International Trade Development (CITD) with its main office in Torrance and satellite offices in Santa Monica and the Wilshire District of Los Angeles. In total the CITD has 14 centers in California. With its innovative approach to international economic development, the CITD is a model for similar programs throughout the United States.

Among the programs introduced by Tony Dolz to the CITD is the 20-Hour Keystone program for international trade development, the E-Commerce initiative, the CITD E-Commerce Mall, the one and two-day International Entrepreneur Series of symposia, the Global Information-based New Economy Program (GINE) and the Trade Missions Initiative. Furthermore, Tony Dolz has increased the number of advanced level workshops and he added presenters and consultants to the staff with over 500 years of collective experience among them. He also established a program of export finance in cooperation with the California Export Finance Office (CEFO).

In January 2000 the CITD established the California-Mexico Trade Center (C-MTC).  This powerful initiative will help California companies gain new competencies in growing their business with Mexico and in improving their global competitiveness by reducing their costs of manufacturing in Mexico under the "Maquiladora" program.  This initiative will in turn further spur economic development in Mexico. The CITD has named a uniquely qualified special C-MTC Business Coordinator and has established collaborative agreements with the key players, such as, the State of California Trade and Commerce Secretary, the Select Committee on California-Mexican Affairs, The United State Commerce Department Attaché and the U.S. Embassy Commercial Attaché in Mexico City; as well as with the Mexican Trade Commissioner and other pertinent Mexican government officials in California and Mexico.  Beginning in February, the CITD will make available advanced level Mexico related consulting, and will offer five hands-on workshops on doing business with Mexico.  In addition there will be full-day seminar and specialized bi-lingual E-commerce offerings optimized for business with Mexico.  Additional services will be available through CITD offices in San Diego and 13 other cities through the State.

Tony is, in addition, breaking new grounds for CITD by negotiating the center's participation in bi-lateral trade missions between California and the Baltic Rim Nations throughout the year 2000.

Other offerings include a complete new series of workshops and seminars on doing business with Pacific Rim nations.  A special Pacific Rim nations consultant joined the staff in January of 2000.  Four different workshops on doing business with the Far East will commence in February 2000.

Tony Dolz's background includes having held executive positions with major information technology, telecommunication and multimedia firms in the United States and Europe for over 20 years. Tony has a M.B.A. in international business from the Norwegian School of Management and a B.A. in business from the University of the State of New York.
